31/365 - Fallen bike
Great to have Pete over for the weekend. Went into town but only took one photo (this one). Later we picked the bike up.

30/365 - ET Punch Holes
I was messingaround with flash that I have purchased for a future project and ended up over exposing this photo as a result.
However I liked it so I made it today's picture (and I had nothing else lined up).

30/365 - Plane
I'm really excited, my brother and coblogger Pete and his other half are flying over for the weekend. Only just got time for this one shot before I go and pick them up.

29/365 - Looking Down #9
Another beautiful sunny winter's day and again I was lucky enough to get out of the office at lunch. I tried again to complete the "looking down" project I failed to get anywhere with on Wednesday and this time had markedly more success. Most of the shots are from the St Katherine's Docks area but this one is near the tower. See my photostream for the other shots.

27/365 - Looking up #1
Got out of the office with the G10 again at lunchtime. The sky was really blue and the sun was low in the sky and casting really long shadows. I spent quit a long time looking down on the ground for some cool shadows with little success so I changed my viewpoint and started looking up - straight up. This is the first of 3 images "Looking up" the others are here and here. The building in this shot is the new Willis building.

27/365 - Scrabble
I was playing Scrabble with my girlfriends family and when we were done I took this photo.
I haven't aranged the tiles in any kind of arty way or such like, this really is just the result of a real game of Scrabble.

21/365 - Toy Car
I was struggling a bit for a photo today so I fell back on taking photos of my toy collection which is bigger than it should be for a 29 year old.
This particular example was a present from my brother Andy from Christmas 2008.
The car is, I think, a Rover 2000 but the most important part is that it is sponsored by Triplex which was a big employer in our home town. It is now Pilkington Automotive and isn't as bigger employer any more.

21/365 - Gehen Sie geradeaus
I remember being made to chant that phrase again an again in German class.
I went on a big explore at lunch and discovered an area of the City I've never been to before. I discovered places I'd only previously heard of like Moorgate tube and the Barbican centre. There is a neat set of elevated walkways from Moorgate to Barbican - I spent some time exploring but never strayed far from the yellow line.
The Barbican complex is pretty amazing. It's all in fantatic 60/70s concrete which I love. I'm definately going to spend some more time there wandering around.

20/365 - Fiddle or Violin
I start my fiddle night classes again tomorrow and I had the fiddle out to tune it up and have a quick practice so I thought "today's photo is in here somewhere"

20/365 - Downward spiral
Today was a great day. My shiny new Canon G10 arrived and I manged to take it for a quick (very quick) spin at lunchtime. This was literally the first shot with the camera outside the office. I think the G10 and I are going to become good friends.

Despite my best efforts to cheerfully avoid blue monday I had a rather rubbish day. My new G10 was supposed to arrive but didn't nor did my lunch and I didn't leave work until 8:30pm. But I'm not going to be beaten by this statistical day of gloom, I got the 9pm train (hoorah) and picked up a pasty on the way (hoorah, hoorah).

19/365 - Blue M&M
I decided to have a go at trying to photograph the act of smashing stuff.
I started with a cripy M&M and planned to move up to an Egg via tomatoes, grapes and balloons.
However I soon discovered that I didn't have the correct kit to do this effectively.
This hasn't dampened my spirit though so stay tuned for some more smashing good fun.

18/365 Ben's Big Burn
Ben's traditional post Christmas bonfire. If you've never seen a Christmas tree go up in flames you really should try it next year (get a grown up helper to light the fire). A tree lasts only 20-30 seconds - amazing.

18/365 - Mmmmmm M&Ms (Crispy)
Yesterady was very grey here in Ireland so I went out in search of some colour to photograph.
I found myself stood in the local shopping centre holding two bags of balloons, some crayons and some M&Ms.

17/365 - Rochford Visit
K's grandparents couldn't make it to the NW for Christmas due to illness so today we went over to see them for the day. It is the first time we've seen them since K has been pregnant. I think her bump is really showing in this photo.

17/365 - Crayons
Today was very grey here in Ireland so I went out in search of some colour to photograph.
There was none on the street so I though "where / how can I buy a bag of colour?".
Later on I found myself stood in the local shopping centre holding two bags of balloons and some crayons - I later added some M&Ms to my haul and returned home.
This is one of the photos that I took (I'll post another tomorrow).

15/365 Vrrrooom
Crazy busy day at work today. Was running late on the way in, failed to get out at lunch and ran for my train tonight. Not much time for photography so I made the most of the car ride from the station.
