243/365 - After dark

We spent today whitewater rafting outside the park (I highly recommend Flying Pig Adventure Company in Gardiner MT). This meant no photos as I don't think the 40D's 'weather proofing' is up to river rafting.

Anyway, we also changed accomodation today, to the Canyon area of the park, we didn't get the until after dark as we chose to hit the Chico hotsprings for a soak and Outlaw's Pizza (Gardiner) before returning to the Park. this shot was taken as we were un packing the car.

242/365 - Ride On

We went for a day long horse trek today. This was taken at the lunch stop, the mountain in the distance is Electric Peak (I think) and our horses can be seen in the right hand corner of th shot, under the trees.

242/365 - Grandma

Went to Southend on Sea today to celebrate K's grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary and K's grandad's 80th birthday. All of K's family were there and baby got lots of cuddles including this one from K's mum.

241/365 - Hot Springs

I was really annoyed when I viewed this shot on the PC, I really liked the compostition but I didn't nitice the lady on the walk way until it was too late (i.e. I'd left the area). I decided to go with it anyway as cropping the lady out ruined the feel of the photo.

Note to self: Take more care in future!

241/365 - Homegrown apples -> Homemade apple cake

Looking at this now I wish I'd rotated the slice of cake a bit. Probablly rushed the shot a bit as I was looking forward to trying the cake (which was delicious)

We drove for 7 hours today to get from Jackson Hole to the North of Yellowstone Park, Mammoth Hot Springs. The drive should only have been 3 hours but we kept stopping to look at the amazing scenery!

Another Break...

Dearest Blog Fans,

Pete here, I'm going on holiday for 10 days to a part of the world that has no access to the Internet. Therefore I will not be posting until the 7th September however I will still be taking my photos and, as I'm going to Yellowstone National Park in the USA, they shall hopeful be a bit more interesting than what I'm been managing lately.

Laters
Pete

229/365 - V

Was up at five, busy day, no time for photo fun. Saw this shot out of the corner of my eye a few days ago and saved up the idea for such a time as this. I suppose V is the roman numeral for 5 so it has some relevance to the day.

229/365 - Sky

I got some Cokin Filters (Grad ND2, ND4 & ND8) in the post today along with a cheap holder. I went out to try them this evening.

I've got them as I'm off to Yellowstone National Park in a few weeks and I convinced myself I need them.

224/365 - Senegal meets Derbyshire

We had a fabulous time at Andrew and Lesley's wedding today. They met while they were both teaching in Senegal so their freinds from the school dressed up in identical african outfits especially for the wedding. Technically there is a lot wrong with this photo but it represents today so perfectly I'm going with it anyway.

224/365 - The whole tooth

Had a minor dental malfunction at work today whilst eating my shop bought sandwich I discovered a bit of tooth in my mouth. I was at first disgusted and then, once I realised it was my tooth, just a bit annoyed.

This is actually an old repair (about 10 years) which just decided today was the day to make a bid for freedom.

Off to the dentist tomorrow to get it fixed.
