365/365 - The End

It is finished!

I've done it - who would have thought? I've learn't a lot about my photography along the way. I've tried shooting things I would have never looked at before. Fallen in and out of love with my G10 and out and in love with my DLSR. I've learn't that I don't like shooting black and white as much as I used to. I've perfected the "2 minutes to midnight something in my house" shot (find a empty surface, place item down, bounce a flash off the ceiling then go to bed). I discovered that flickr + lego = hundreds of views. But the biggest change I've made to the way I take photos is that I'm increasingly imagining the shot I want before I take it, maybe days or weeks before for photos that need lots of planning or more likely just moments before but either way I try to see it first in my head and then realise it with the camera.

Life has changed a lot over the last year too. The biggest change of course is the new addition to our family she is awesome and I totally recomend that everyone get one if they can. I can't thank my wife enough for her patience with me this year, despite us having loads on our plate she has let me complete the daily ritual of shoot/process/upload (nearly) without complaint.

I'd like to thank my brother Pete for being my running mate in this photographic marathon, I'm so proud of him he has really stepped up his photography this year to meet the challenge of 365. It has also been great being in touch with him daily through the project blog - it is nice to know he's there even though he lives in a different country.

Thanks to everyone who has been looking in this last year, it has been fun doing it and I hope you've enjoyed watching.

Andy

363/365 - Bed time is party time

I have been meaning to get a shot of my daughter's disco ball in action for ages but everytime I go to do it she is already asleep - tonight I grabbed my chance as my wife was getting her dressed for bed.

361/365 - Dreaming

Today we went for a rather windy walk up Sutton Manor Colliery to see "The Dream". Push chair access was terrible an my father in law and I ended up having to lift the buggy (complete with baby) over a gate that was nearly as tall as I am just to get in the main entrance. On the way out we found a side exit that was more baby friendly.

360/365 - From the summit

Four adults, 3 children, 2 push chairs and one ice covered hill. We climbed to the top of the big hill in Taylor Park then we really didn't know what to do from there so I took a photo.

This morning I went with my father inlaw to his allotment to get the brussel sprouts for Christmas lunch.

357/365 - Winter wonderland

We drove up to the northwest today for Christmas and the snow seems to have followed us.

356/365 - Clash of the seasons

There was a fresh batch of snow last night. Appologies to anyone who lives in a properly snowy country but here in the UK we usually only get snow for one day a year, usually in February, so a whole week of white is really exciting for us.

354/365 - Chillin with Santa

I'm still not sure how I feel about selective colouring but I think it works here.

351/365 - Fellows garden

WA and I went to the theatre tonight in Cambridge to see "the lion the witch and the wardrobe". I parked in his college and the snow was starting to fall as we walked to the theatre. By the time we left the snow had really settled and driving home was a bit of a challenge. I grabbed a few shots around college before setting off.

347/365 - Festooned

Went for a few drinks with WA in the Red Lion in Histon tonight. The lion is my favourite pub in Histon and one of my favourite pubs in Cambridge/the world. If you are as short as I am it is easy to miss that the ceilings are completely covered in beer pump signs and jugs.

346/365 - Relic

Over a year ago I worked on porting our code at work from the HP-UX/PA-RISC platform to Lintel. We kept hold of the old servers until now "just in case" but have now bust them open for souvenirs/trophies such as this heat sink. In other blast-from-the-past news K and I went to see Terrorvision in Cambridge tonight. They played all of How to make friends in order and some other stuff too.
