I'm over in St. Helens before I head down to the Cambridge Folk Festival tomorrow so me and Dad went out to the Sandpiper for dinner.
Not sure how many photos I'll manage to upload over the next few days but rest assured they will eventually appear.

I got new printer today, it is nice. However I couldn't afford one which was network enabled so I have set about building a print server from some spare bits I had in the house.
This is the mother board.

Today I took inspiration from the car park payment machine in Newbridge's White Water Shopping Centre.
Every time I go to pay and I'm feeling a little like I'm stuck in a rut, it reminds me that 'Change is possible'.

One of the unique advantages of fatherhood is geting to see things like this. The sun made an amazing pattern of orange stripes, accross the cornfield in front of our house, as it rose this morning.

Visited the glass houses at the botanical gardens today but I didn't make a note of what anything was - drat!

Today I got issued with Tamiflu by my employer - the whole company has been given it "just in case". I wasn't sure what I ought to do with it (not having flu) so I decided to take it's photo.

I'm off to see U2 in Dublin tonight, so I made likenesses of the four band members out of Honey Due Melon. I call them HoneyDU2.

Labhaoise got some great news related to work today, not going to go into too much detail but it was great!
We celebrated with some faux Champers and a starbar!

My new (well new to me) 50mm lens has arrived. Pete got his ages ago and has been making great images with it ever since and *everyone* on flickr seems to have one so I finally gave in and bought one from ebay. I went for the mkI version as it is supposed to be better built and has a better manual focus ring. This lens was discontinued in 1990 so is a bit of a collectors item too.

Labhaoise and I played scrabble this evening using a pocket Scrabble set.
It is possibly the smallest scrabble set I've ever used!

Found this Bosco puppet whilst clearing L's Mam's attic.
For those not in the know (which i most people outside of Ireland) Bosco is/was a children's tv character in the early 1980s.

Had a great time at Dan & Jemma's wedding it was brilliant to see old friends. The reception was at a lovely farm with a beautiful landscaped garden and some gypsy caravans.

I've been struggling with this theme all week. I have tried things with mirrors, long tunnels made from Lego and real tunnels, but none of them came out well.
So I've just had to take the easy way out with a picture of the inifinity symbol on my 17-85 lens.

I had another one of the themes lined up for tonight but I just couldn't get it to work out as I wanted so I had a quick scout around for something else.
This is the driver's side headlamp of L's car, a KA. The curves and intersecting lines very much say 'Geometric' to me. Also I looked on Wikipedia (afterwards) and this is not too disimilar from the 'Tomahawk' geometric shape.

I dug out some christmas lights and but them over the back of a chair, put Labhaoise's guitar in the foreground and snapped away.
There are a few more on Flickr if you care to look.

I have no idea why but it is easier to get a London snow storm in Cambridge than a Cambridge one.

This is my response to the 'Colour' theme set by Andy.
It is a house made out of very brightly coloured fake Lego bricks from the 2 Euro shop.
Once I finished the house I noticed that if you looked through the bottom that it looked pretty cool. So I set up the flash and this is what I got.

This week my brother has set me 5 challenges/themes to use in my 365 shots. I've got the 5 titles swimming around in my head and I've spent all day looking to tick one off so when I found this receipt in the Tesco self service checkout I instantly thought "Lifestyle" - sure its not the perfect lifestyle but none the less. I've also been wondering about doing my own version of Ceal Floyer's work so I think this fits the bill (pun intended) on both counts.

On our walk this afternoon I found loads of bees on a lavender bush. I tried to get some shots but the bees were pretty quick. At least I didn't get stung!
