83/365 - Touch 4 Love

Revisted Red Cross Lane again today to go to the builders merchant I discovered yesterday while on my photo mission. I bought a 4.5m length of floor board which I cut into 2 for ease of getting home - apparently the guy who works there can't cut it for health and safety reasons but he could lend me a saw to do it myself. Once I'd got them back over London Bridge my next challenge was what to do with them during the afternoon. My first plan to hide them under my desk was foiled by our security guard telling me that items over 2m in length are not allowed inside the building. I managed persuade our post room to look after them for me then got one of my colleagues to help me carry them to the station in the evening. We got many puzzled looks as we carried them through the crowded city - until today it had never occured to me that I've never seen anyone doing this on my way to and from work. I had already checked the rules for large items on the train and interperetted them in my favour so I was ready for a lively discussion on the platform (and ready to loose to be honest). But no one even questioned me as I confidently went throught the barrier with both planks and strode up to my usual carriage.

Oh and the photo was taken next to Cross Bones graveyard (as featured yesterday) on my way to buy the planks.
